Red ,what Ken says is good advice.Keep a record at one hour ,two hour and even three hour and you will see a pattern over time.

I already understand sue, what a great big fat f.... nightmare it is to have this. i not even old and i have to worry about my legs falling off or going blind and you cant even eat what you want when you want and that is the most basic thing there is, and the only thing there is.

What everyone else said

Red, you have posted a lot of questions over the last few days and you strike me as someone who is in a blind panic at the moment and full of self blame about the fact you have diabetes

Testing is an expensive waste of time if you don't know how to use the information it gives you. I use my test results to tweek what I eat. That is what helps me to bring my blood sugar under better control and my numbers down. You seem to be using yours to scare yourself silly :?

Chill!! Slow down!! Set yourself some simple goals, my goal has can be summarised as simply having a better reading at the next blood test.

I think you and I have had a similar amount of weight to lose at the time of our respective diagnosis - as have many others on here. It isn't impossible.

You need to start with what you do know and then work out what else you need to know to get the level of control you want. From what you have written in your recent posts, you don't know enough about about what you eat to get a better handle on your readings. Get the Collins Gem Carb Counter and read the sticky stuff in the low carb forum if that is the way you intend to go.

Visit some of the websites suggested and do some reading, get some of the books suggested. But you will spend a lot of money and still not get the results you want if you don't understand what you are doing. You can ask as many questions as you like, but you need to stop long enough to read and understand the answers, and then act on them. And then work out how it actually works in your very own totally unique diabetic body.

You can't help having diabetes. You can make choices about how you deal with it (or not, because that is also a choice).

I dont need this forum nor anyone else
i am not in a panic and im not really bothered
and I thought you were supposed to ask questions here
what else can you do on a forum, but ask questions or
answer them. I dont really get what I have done wrong,
and I dont really care either.

This life has really come to something when Parsnips are evil.

Parsnips have always been evil. I remember as a kid tucking in to what I thought was a lovely roast potato only to find I had bitten into a parsnip Ewwwww

Good morning Red...
I have a found a good trick when testing trust me, When i first thought of using something to stick myself with! OH you should of seen me, Sat there eyes closed saying have i done it yet! Other half said no not yet it is not close enough!Lol..what a whimp i was!
I have found that if i eat something i am unsure about, I test 1hour after 2 hours after and then if i don't feel right 3 hours after!
It is so confusing about what you can and can't eat anymore! Being a yorkshire born girl! I grew up with toad in the hole and yorkshire pudding's! Now i can't have either!
Thing is it is the little things that i miss! The smell of something cooking in the oven! I used to bake cakes etc! Always that home smell in the house like what grandma's used to smell like when ever i opened my gran's front door.
I am 34 but i loved that smell that i had in the kitchen!
Any questions just ask away! that is what we are here for, The ones who know a little more offering support and advice!
Sandy

So glad I joined this forum today. I have learned so much in a few short hours. My original post (Out of Control) may soon be answered at this rate without having to resort to another surgery visit. Thanks all.
