trubble with hubbie is he has his mum in his ear when he tells her what i am after getting (whether i need it or just want it) she tells him i dont need them and not to give into me! shes one of these that thnks she knows everything about everything!!!

I've just had a thought. Maybe someone wiser than I can comment. With no meter, you are possibly not going to have very good control. I was advised that if I ever got a cut or break in my skin that wouldn't heal, I should see the Doctor. Later on here, I have read that ulcerations are possible and do happen after a break or wound that wouldn't heal. With all that in mind, I would advise you speak with your Doctor before getting a tattoo anyway. Sorry it's a bit of a tangent, it just came to mind. :D

Hi Tolsn,

I have just typed in on google free onetoughultra and all sorts of options came up !!!!!! Why dont you just type inb free blood glucose monitor and see what's available. If you want to pay for a particular one then that is your choice but if you just want to be able to test your blood glucose, and not fussy with what then take a look!!!

probably about time for a big argument then. In the last two weeks there have been postings on here by husbands who have lost their wives, wives who have lost their husbands and at least one double amputee. This is a condition that can and will kill you if given half a chance.

Well said Swimmer!!! I have posted twice that you might be able to get one free too!!!!

Just out of interest can you also get free sticks because Ive been searching online and cant find either, the only free meter link I found was out of date.

Hi Tinytoez,

there were some free strips with the meter when it came. I just think its worth scouring around just in case!

One touch have a registration to complete is it worth applying just in case. I havent done it as I have already applied and they have my details! I says apply to see if you are eligible for a free meter!!

i am looking into the free one at the mo!!
the site i have found askes for state and there all american and as am in uk no good to me!! i will find one i am not giving up lol

if i dont find a free one i will just give hubbie silent tretment for a few days he should get the message lol!!! really annoyed me though couse when i first found out he said we had to get our sons b/d out the way first which was fair enough then nw we have dont that he has just out right said no!!!!
and on top of that hes wanting to get a new coffee table/side table for him to have at the side of the sofa he sits on so he can eat his tea and not worry about the dog or kids knocking it off!!! really ****** me off!!!! :x

I applied for the free verio pro meter on here got a email confirmation advised 28 days for delivery about 6 weeks ago and I still havent seen it or had a response from lifescan anyone else had problems ?

Does he drink or smoke at all? Just thought you could maybe 'ban' his treats as such until he'll let you spend some money on looking after your health.
Good luck.
Angie

nope he doesnt so wouldnt work!!!!

i will get 1 one wy or another!!! even if i have to borrow some money off my mum and dad to get one and pay them back in june!!! (or before if i can1!)

On this site there is a competition to win a meter http://www.diabetes.co.uk/promotions/bayer-meters.html

I didn't win but they sent me a meter with a letter that sort of read 'sorry you didn't win, but here is a meter anyway'. Other people have posted that they got one too without winning. When you fill in the form you have to say you test a lot (that's how they make their money). BTW it comes with 25 strips.
