looking at getting

well after some serching i have filled in a few forms and hopefully one will come up trumps and send me a free meter we will have to see now!!!!

well after the silent tretment all weekend he had now decided i can buy the meter!!!! :D
i knew i would get him to eventually lol!!!!!! :D :D :D :D 8)

thanks lucylocket61
after i compared the 2 it is still cheeper to buy from ebay tbh!! and even adding extra test strips it was still cheeper (ether that or i did it wrong lol)

Can I ask how much it was including postage on Ebay please? I also on benefit and am looking for the cheapest option.

Direct from the site I linked it is £11.60 including postage for the kit and £6.49 for 50 test strips and £4.49 for 100 lancets (also including postage)

Hi Lucy,on ebay the cost are as follows as long as you remember to choose the "I am diabetic" option:-

Basic Kit £9.95 + £2 postage = £11.95
Basic Kit + 50 extra strips and 100 extra Lancets £19.95 + £2 postage = £21. 95

Cost of ordering further supplies :-
50 strips = £4.99 = £2 postage with more packs in the same order not increasing the postage.
100 lancets if ordered on their own are showing as £3.59 + £2 postage. (I believe the price for lancets has been revised this morning so this could be a few pence lower than previously advertised.= as could the price you have just quoted in your post.)

well i ordered it and 50 test strips :D so it is marked as despatched (but i doubt it yet) so just have to wait the 4-6 day delivery now :D

Fingers crossed for you tolsn that your kit arrives quickly. My orders normally arrive in 3/4 days.

I have been using the Codefree since I was diagnosed in March and it has been a godsend sorting out what parts of my diet need tweaking. I have a way to go to get into low enough figures for my GP to be happy but at least using my meter along side a lowish carbohydrate way of life I am starting to get a grip on my life as a diabetic. I would hate to be without a meter now trying to eat a healthy diabetic diet would have been very hit and miss, at least doing it my way, rather than the NHS cost cutting no meter way, I get a instant read back on the nono's on my plate.

I get mine from Amazon. £6.99 including postage, I got my meter from there as well. Like you Catza delivery is usually only 3-4 day.

So pleased for you tolsn, what a difference you will see with your new shiny meter. I am so pleased for you.

Keep an eye on the costs if you decide to send for more than a couple of boxes of the strips as on ebay you only pay £4.99 for 50 strips plus a one off postage price of £2 no matter how many boxes you order. Or at least that is all I have been charged so far.

Thanks for that. I always order in bulk as I feel safer having a good supply of strips. Plus on 'panic' days I test like a demon, so this could save some cash. :)

I've been married over 40 years and my husband wouldn't ever interfere in anything I wanted to buy. Especially not something as important as a BG meter.
You need to sort out that man. AND get the meter.
