Hi everyone. I'm pre-diabetic. I found out about 2 years ago, and went to the local library and read as many books as I could. Happened on Hillary Wright M.Ed. RDN book The PRE-DIABETES DIET PLAN How to Reverse Prediabetes through Healthy Eating and Exercise. What a great book. I'm 6 ft. 4 inches tall and went from 227 to 177 Lbs after leaning to watch my carbs. And brought my A1C back in to the good range. I put 20 Lbs back on by not being able to go into grocery stores during c-19 but now that I am fully vaccinated, I can get my favorite good foods again and have took 10 of that 20 off. Hopping to even get lighter that 177. Still kept my BMI in the good range and my A1c maxed out at 5.5 with the extra weigh so still stayed good. Hopping to get it lower.
One of my sisters became pre last year and I got her a copy of the book. And one of my sister-in-laws visited today and said that she is pre, and I told her about the book and she ordered a copy. And I showed her how to figure out the total carbs for foods, and some very low carb and no carb foods.
So I guess one thing I can say positive is that if you or anyone you know is pre get a copy of that book.

Changing the subject, the reason I am posting today, is I have an ongoing medical problem not related to diabetes, though I understand diabetics may also have similar problems, and therefore might have an answer I am looking for. I have a lower left foot and ankle that has very poor drainage of lymph fluid because of a major childhood injury, and I must wear very very loose fitting cotton socks without elastic. And they are almost impossible to find. The socks I am using now are no longer made, and I had to cut the top of of them because it had elastic in the top. This reduces the life of them because they unravel some every time I wash them, and I have to trim the loose threads. This search for very very loose fitting socks is made even harder because I wear a size 13 extra wide shoe. Usually, socks that say up to size 13 are way too tight for me. I need something extremely loose. If it falls down a couple of time a day, that is OK. It has to be loose.
So do any of you have any suggestions of what brand of sock to try?
And if so, where to buy them?
Thanks in advance.
