viviennem said:Very well done, Mike!  You should be feeling very pleased with yourself. Keep on as you are, but don't be surprised if you slow down a bit. Isn't it nice when all your clothes are too big?- if a little expensive  .
I'll be well chuffed if I get to a total weight loss of 78lb; 84lb (6 stone) would be even better. I'm not being too ambitious, though - slow and steady seems to be working for me re the diabetes - even with the extra carbs since Christmas my BGs have never been out of the Type 2 target range. My BGs are more important than my weight, now; if this way of eating keeps all my blood tests in the right range, the weight loss is just an added bonus. I've spent 50 years agonising about my weight and it's got me nowhere. Thank you diabetes!
Talking about myself again! sorry. Let us know how you go on, Mike.

Not when you haven't got a single pair of trousers that stay up anymore. I am literally on belt and braces now. I'm OK for shirts, I kept those, so I have a collection of XL, 2XL, 3XL 4XL and 5XL. I'm down from 5XL to 3XL but have no trousers that fit. My braces hoik up my trousers something shocking so I am walking around with baggy trousers flying at half mast with twangy braces and a belt looking as if I have mugged a scarecrow for its dapper threads.

Ahh, you're King Cotton are you? My lot worked for the Platt family in the 1860s/1870s. I went to the Port of Lancaster Smokehouse at Glasson Dock last week, Arbroath Smokies, Smoked Wild Salmon, Smoked Tuna, Smoked Trout. Stank the house out for the rest of weekBut to tell you the truth, my lowest ever readings were during that culinary spell. Easy to see how a man could turn poacher.

I am so happy with this result which now means my surgery can go ahead and I can look forward to a new beginning !!

Yorksman said:Keep it up. I've lost 25kg since Christmas and my bloods are mostly in the normal range now. Boy do I feel so much better for it. I'm even looking forward to doing the garden and going for walks in the summer. You really do end up feeling like you have got your life back.
