Looping user, how do you/it cope with sensor inaccuracies

Interested in hearing what peoples experience is with closed loop setups when you sensor start to loose the plot? I been using Libre 2 sensors for years and I'm not sure I could fully rely on the sensor being accurate enough to administer insulin. At times it is acceptably just off, more often it is about 1mmol lower and at other times, like first and last couple of days it has a tendency to wonder off in all directions. I've tried the dexcoms (One and G6) in the past and found that more on the button but alas I'm terribly allergic to it! So second bonus question is are there any other alternative 'CGM' devices worth looking at?

The libre 2 is not used for pumps

It will be either the 2+/3 or dexcom or Medtronic

In 5 years I’ve not had an issue accuracy is normally within acceptable ranges.. and in the event of total failure the pump reverts to programmed settings

I use the dexcom g7 (previously g6) and it often under reads drastically for the first day. I get around this by bedding it in for 12 hours before I connect to my pump and turning off the closed loop if it is really out of range.

Have you tried protective barrier creams @spikey1 as regards allergies to sensors?

@EllieM I've tried lots of barrier methods with mixed results, nothing sustainable though.

@searley What do you class as acceptable? I can have readings like BG is 5 but sensor reports 8 and vice versa at times, I could say my control can be erratic at times so the BG swings might make the sensor a bit off I guess.

I've never particular had issues with bad inaccuracies. I use the Guardian 4, even though you can get away with not calibrating it I tend to still calibrate at least once a day or if it is showing slight inaccuracies (such as saying I'm low when I'm not).

Even with inaccuracies at times my CGM data always predicts my HbA1c will be higher than what it actually is so I figure it can't be that far off in day to day use.

Big changes in blood sugar can affect what a sensor displays as you have to remember it's around 10-15 minutes behind what your actual blood sugar is due to it not directly reading from your blood.

Libre 2+ is more reliable and accurate than 2 (for me)
The odd inaccuracy seems to be ignored by the pump, which uses rising or falling trend to predict where BG is likely to be in around an hour.
