Type of diabetes
Type 1
Hi can anyone help me out I'm wanting to loose all my body fat but want to use fat burners can I use them being a diabetic

Ahh okk then being a diabetic how can I loose all this fat then
If you type low carb high fat in to the search bar you will find loads of threads/support, along with recipes etc that could help you to lose weight/fat by cutting the amount of carbohydrates you consume

I'm borderline T2, not T1, and they are very different diseases so being careful here.

Are you carb-counting and watching the basal insulin? Very far from being an expert, but I think you have to be careful about that, and there are online carb-counting courses. bertie rings a bell.

Please take care of yourself.

Anything over 20 carbs per DAY and I gain weight. All forms of starch, sugar etc. as well as dairy make me gain.

I need to keep protein MODERATE. By doing those two things I can eat an 80% fat diet and never gain. Avocados, olive oil, SOME butter and SOME nuts.

The key is IN THE ABSENCE of carbs dietary fat does not make you fat. Throw carbs in and that equals weight gain.

No no - you really do not want to lose all your body fat - trust me on this - yo need to have a certain percentage of fat, but it doesn't come from eating fat - quite the reverse. Eating fat can bring about ketosis, which is good - it is the process of using fat for energy. It is what usually happens between meals when you don't snack - but to rev it up and lose body fat, you need to reduce the amount of insulin you release. Insulin is the hormone which makes fat in the body by converting simple sugars for storage.
If you don't eat high carb meals you don't release insulin, you don't get a big blood glucose spike and you use body fat for fuel almost all the time.

if you are a type one on insulin, as i am, i would be rather careful about very low carbs - they are not what i can manage, and not recommended by specialists where i am - i think the situation re Type 2 may suit the low carbs, butI agree with the advice to take great care as a type one. i was not overweight some years ago, but needed to lose less than a stone - i found this easiest by cutting carbs to around 120, any less just did not work re control, or digestion. I slowly lost the required weight, cutting calories as well, i realise everyone is different, but this has been my experience. i know nothing about fat burners, but if they speed up the metabolism, they are not safe for anyone, let alone a type one diabetic - i wonder whether you might damage your heart......not worth it.....

@Gogginsconnor Keeping a food diary for a week can help you see where you can cut down.

You could also use an app like MyFitnessPal to keep records and set targets.

Exercise is always good too. Even something as simple as extra walking can help.
