Morning
So I’ve been doing super low carb/keto for must be 2 years now. Just after diagnosis I lost about a stone and a half but since then, doesn’t move, I get to a certain weight and then stay there. I don’t eat a lot of food, I’m not strictly consistently keto but I don’t go over 30g.
I’ve discovered pork belly in the air frier which is a great no carb snack but it’s obviously very fatty. I don’t tend to snack but some days I just fancy something, and sometimes when I’m doing my knitting zooms they are all there snacking away on stuff I can’t have and the cravings kick in, so figure instead of having something I can’t have at least I’m eating something even if it doesn’t quite hit the spot.
If I exercise my weight increases.
Now it could be my age (48) but I’d really like to lose some weight to see if that helps with my sugars but my body just doesn’t seem o want to get rid of it.
I know by exercising I’m getting healthier inside and even the dr said this.
Funnily enough before Xmas increased what I ate and I lost a bit but I’m also not overly hungry at the mo so at that point I was eating for the sake of eating and although the weight was dropping (still no lower the. My whatever stone and 9lb. It just sticks there and almost like the scale is stuck, except it’s electric

so any thoughts?

Hi there, what is your current BMI?, I wonder whether it's because your body likes to hover at a certain weight and clings onto that weight no matter what, almost as a default! Also, at 48 it could be you are about to start the menopause?

No idea on him but I am bigger than I should be. Hence the problem. And yes I’m definitely on the way to the big M. Although funnily enough some of the symptoms seem very much linked to my sugar control

I am stuck at just over 12 stone, and what I eat seems to make very little difference!

I'm experimenting with various foods, including carbohydrates, and watching my LIbre.
Being bad or good seems to have little effect.

The only way to really shift weight seems to be by fasting - for me that is a coffee with cream and butter in the morning then nothing but water for the rest of the day.

I do take weight off when cycling, but have you looked out of the window???

I work on the basis that on an LCHF/ketogenic diet. I'll maintain my weight (with very slight ups/downs) if the fuel I'm consuming matches my energy needs; if I consistrently consume more, I'm storing the surplus so likely to gain some weight, if I consume less then any deficit will be made of from stored body fat.. If I can keep my carbohydrate consumption low and more or less stable, then adjusting my fatty food should do the balancing act for me.
