Been type 1 for 42 years on injections. I went on the Animas Vibe pump in Sept 2015 (3 1/2 months now). I absolutely love it despite some fairly regular cannula problems (eg sore area needing new cannula, knocking cannula out, bent cannulas and occassionaly bubbles).
My blood sugars are improved, more under 10's than not whoooo hoooo. I treat highs quicker, I treat all hypos with a diddy can of coke (15g carbs) as told to by pump nurse.
I still need to eat healthier but thats an ongoing thing (I tend to have biscuits, choccy type binges a bit too much still).
After all these years I feel better about my diabetes, I feel more positive. It's in 'my hands' to get improved levels, to get heslthier. It wont happen overnight (bad habits die hard). Im not going to beat myself up over it all, over not having perfect diabetic control (if that is even possible!).
The pump has given me a new lease of motivation and hope. ImageUploadedByDCUK Forum1452805186.053716.jpg

I love my Vibe too : D It's a cool little pump and I'm very glad I chose it :)

I've been pumping for 12 years and I much prefer it to MDI.

Pleased your starting to see some improvements @catsbd, hope your good progress continues :)

This is great to here, @catsbd I've had vibe for 6 weeks feel better for it already. Although not had a A1c yet my meter is showing the best results ever. Ave BG on meter 8.3. I appreciate I've had a few hypos, and 2 illnesses which caused havoc with BG for 3 days but I did recover my levels quicker on pump than with MDI. I too had all those issues bent cannula etc. Glad it's all improving for you and long may it continue.

The only thing I really like about my Vibe is that it's a great Dexcom G4 receiver and the cartridges are easy to fill and remove air bubbles but apart from the Inset 30 which is a great set, most of the other stuff I can take with a pinch of salt. The Lcd menu is hopeless in sunlight so be warned that the screen will only be visable indoors or in the shade outside

With your pumping experience, if you could take any pump now, what would you choose and why?

I wish the Cozmo was still being marketed. I loved that pump. Animas is a pump that just does the job and has the Dex receiver which is all I'm interested in really.

Difficult one if deciding on cgm but would look at how easy it might be to see cgm data using x drip and if it was, I would chose a pump with the bg remote so that I could keep in my bra. With the Vibe it just involves one button press at the top of the pump and up comes the bg level. Not sure if using a mobile would involve pressing a button to turn it on and enter password and then tap on the app to see the data? No need for any of that on the Vibe

Hi

I just got my animas vibe yesterday, doing the trial. So far, I find putting the cannula in is fine but all the details on the machine is a lot to take in. Apart from that I am quite excited to see how it works with the insulin! My new diabetic nurse seems a lot more professional and helpful in comparison to my other one.

I'm a type 1 aged 16 and was wondering if anyone here knows if I am able to get both the Dexcom G4 and the Animas Vibe on the NHS?

Hi Naill l, as long as you meet the criteria for a pump then no reason not to have one. Areas vary for youngsters having Sensors supplied for youngsters, if you were hypo unaware then yes I would suspect so. But as I said it depends on a lot of things.
