I’ve been recording some bg readings in the low 4s now for about a week . One time after a small whiskey it went down to 3.9
Now my question is if you are reading bg in the 4s ,can you have a few pints or should you eat a few more carbs if goin out where your gonna drink alcohol . I normally eat lots of chicken thighs n wings but that was when I was reading bg in mid 5s to mid 6s . Not used to my bloods being this good .
BTW I’m feeling fine on it . But I’ve lost a lot of weight and I’m thinking that maybe the insulin is working better inside

If the information on your profile that says you're diet only is still correct, youg bg is perfect and nothing to worry about :)
Have a good night out!

Providing you feel fine, you are not too low, and are no more likely to hypo than a non-diabetic. Just go easy, your body may not be as tolerant to alcohol as it used to be.

As the others have said on no meds if you’re feeling fine those numbers are fine. I quite often get into the high 3s with no adverse effects. Usually feel a little hungry, but nothing else.

Have a good time but stay on the pavement (if you see what I mean). You've made a stunning improvement, well done. How are your knees btw?

What the others have said.

I have 3s almost every day, and am absolutely fine. Let's face it, if we weren't testing, we would have no idea and just be getting on with our lives. Don't be afraid of the small numbers, provided you feel well.

You've done very well indeed, @Peadair O Brionn .

The knees are driving me mad . If wasn’t for that I’d be flyin . Can’t run , stairs are getting harder , but sure that comes to us all . Onwards and upwards .

Readings in the 4s are what Dr Bernstein considers normal, will lead to no complications and can often reverse any complications that have already set in. Personally, I'd kill for numbers like yours, but I can't attain them even with a very low carb diet. Do you really want to risk your great numbers just for a few pints?

Thanks for the reply . I’ve had a few weekends on the town over the last 9 month and I’m off for 2 weeks hols soon . I’ve never had a problem with the alcohol and my diabetes . But that’s when I was a bit higher , it would bring me down to the low 5s then creep back up to the mid 6s . Just wanted to make sure if I was around 4.8 it wouldn’t drop me down to low . But don’t worry I won’t let it jeopardise my hard work to get down to where I am now
