I was diagnosed type 2 last December but recently had a result of 40. I am taking two metformin morning and two

Be on the safe side I did it again and it was the same! Any ideas as to why it was so
Low???
 
The alcohol? It inhibits your liver from producing glucose.... This is a big issue for T1s on insulin if they binge drink, as it can cause a coma inducing hypo in the night (more risky than day time because the sufferer may sleep through the hypo.)

I don't think this is actually dangerous for someone who's just medicated with metformin, but maybe someone else knows better?
 
I just don't think you can find a good idea here, online, why don't you get some advice from a doctor

That was really interesting. Been T1 for 48 years and didn't realised I was supposedly only allowed 1 drink per day.... Or the particular dangers of metformin and alcohol, despite having been on a 3 year double blind medical trial when I may or may not have been taking metformin.
1 drink ... hmm... just wonder what units they're using ??? :)
