Low carb diet effects

Depends on the person and on how low you go with carbs. The lower you go, the more improvement you're likely to see. Most people notice an improvement within a few days, but it can vary depending on how insulin resistant you are.

How long does it take to see improvement of fasting BG after starting the low carb diet?
Fasting BG may vary from person to person but in my case, the finger prick blood test was instant. Carbs will raise blood glucose, some faster than others. The best (or the only) carbs to have are the ones found in non starchy vegs like broccoli, cauliflower, lettuce, tomatoes etc. The best fruits to eat are the range of berries like strawberries, blackberries, blueberries etc. By reducing carb intake, you have a lesser chance of losing the 'pre' in pre-diabetic.

I started eating LCHF in July, but only got meter and strips at the start of September. First few days fasting numbers were mid 7's. This past week - from 5.3 to 6.3. I'm probably under 30g carb most days, fast one whole day each week and 16:8 or 18:6 the others.
