Type 2
VirtaHealth is a USA company selling a service to get people with Type2 off most drugs paid for based on the savings in the cost of the drugs. They are mostly aiming at people on lot of insulin etc, as they enables the health companies the make the greatest savings, and therefore for Virta Health to make the most profit.

They provide 24/7 medical support to adjust drugs usage, remote BG monitoring etc, along with a very high level of support. But they are publishing what they are doing so people with motivation can do it without their help.

This web page of their, gives a very good overview of how low carb works etc. Maybe we should be pointing people at it, as part of the standard information, then to dietdoctor to get the details of how to do low carb.

Indeed it is a good find. It is easy to understand, no long scientific words, and spot on. I have book marked it and may use it to help newbies. I also liked the next page explaining Dawn Phenomenon brilliantly. Thank you for posting it.

I believe they now have many millions funding due to the backers seeing how good an investment it is, but they need people to start asking their health providers to fund their program, hence the top quality marketing.

The company was started by the people who wrote “The Art and Sciance of Low Carb Living”, and “A New Atkins for a New You” along with 30 years of academic research publishing many papers on low carb. The start up funding come from some of the leading venture capital companies in silicon valley.

Thanks @ringi ! A superb series of videos. I wish I'd known about them when I was first diagnosed, they would have backed up the invaluable advice I gained on DCUK.

Hi @ringi

I think there is a typo in your thread title. It says Vitahealth, rather than Virtahealth.
The only reason I am pointing it out is because people may be mistaken about the name and end up googling the wrong thing, if they want to do some background reading.

Would you like me to change the title to 'Virta'?
