It really is, with huge thanks to you! We've been chattering about it all day all over the forums.

Huge congratulations! I really hope the "sheeple" will wake up now!

Thanks to work from yourself, Drs Cavan and Unwin and the Diabetes.co.uk Low Carb Program the message is getting out there, hearty congratulations on the progress so far.

Unfortunately the ostriches are taking their heads out of the sand and responding with the same old same old which has got us into this situation.

Almost immediately there was a report from Dr Alison Tedstone:

Advice to eat more fat is irresponsible and potentially deadly, Public Health England's chief nutritionist has said.

Dr Alison Tedstone was responding to a report by the National Obesity Forum, which suggests eating fat could help cut obesity and type 2 diabetes. See the BBC New page at: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-36345768

I received an email the other day from Diabetes UK: "Diabetes UK are searching for the research priorities of people with Type 2 diabetes, their carers and healthcare professionals" They have set up a steering committee to review the funding priorities for type 2 diabetes research. I suggested they should include research into the benefits of the LCHF lifestyle. You have probably seen it, but here is the URL of the web page: https://www.diabetes.org.uk/t2-top-...ntent=join+us+today&utm_campaign=Type+2+PSP+2

The word is finally out there along with evidence to back it up in type 2 who has lost a lot of weight and is off insulin by eating our way but then of course the so called ''experts'' know better and still insist it is wrong. One day they will get it right and follow our lead....until then we can only continue with the fight to make them listen

I must admit, I couldn't quite believe my eyes when I saw it this morning.

It's my local DUK meeting on Wednesday evening, where our speaker, coincidentally is a dietician. I wonder how she will comment. I think I'll take a printed copy of the PHCUK report and infographics, just on case she "hasn't seen it". :)

Why do the opposition keep on saying that there are thousands of reports linking fat, high cholesterol and heart disease. Can you please ask them to name one and send the reference to Dr. Kendrick. Better still, next time you are on TV can you ask one of them yourself.

Well done by the way.

I have been contacted by DUK asking for input to their research priorities for T2D. I'm sure I'm not the only one on the forum. I think we could get everyone who has been contacted to ask why Diabetes.co.uk has not been invited to sit on the steering committee it might just be a chance to get LCHF on the agenda.

I asked two questions:

“ Recent research, and my own experience, suggests that following a lower carbohydrate diet has a positive impact on Blood Glucose levels and the effects of T2D on peoples’ lives. What plans are there for further in depth research in this area to determine if a long term change in lifestyle can be the basis of a cure for T2D?”

“Why has no-one from diabetes.co.uk been invited to join the steering group? They have over 450,000 world-wide members, with all variations of the condition, who regularly share their experiences, their ups and downs, hopes and fears and would be an enormous wealth of information and experience to tap into during your research.”

I thought it might be useful to let you know of this DUK initiative as you are attending a local meeting tomorrow.

Which steering group are you referring to?

It is ironic that the "Health experts" at this important juncture, so readily dismisses the effectiveness and relevance that low carbs/intermittent fasting while readily embrace surgically enforced fasting as the way forward in the treatment algorithm...

http://www.scientificamerican.com/a...ic-surgery-to-be-standard-diabetes-treatment/

T2D needs to be given the resources/information to make informed choices...so that we can reduce needless loss of limbs and life. Kudos to all the HCP that found the courage and strength to swim against the tide.

Unkind people, failure to take personal responsibility.
Southport GP, as a result of people like you, my own GP here in Cambridge and this phenomenal community, my life has literally and totally been transformed.

I am the size and weight I was at 20...yet I'm now 54.

All my metabolic markers have resolved to well inside the non-diabetic continuum, and all from a Low Carb, High Fat diet, intermittent fasting and exercise....AND all this within 6 weeks.

Thank you everyone and pioneers like yourself at the vanguard of our very own Tipping Point!! Kevin
