Low GI - What Effect on BG?

I'm the same as @Brunneria, very carb sensitive. I could eat the steak for sure. The rest of the starchy foods not at all ever.
Maybe you should have just one of the starchy foods per meal instead of all in one meal. Then you can get a better idea. For me, all of them would effect me even if I only had one. I actually use a small spoonful of hummus I'm a little low. Raises me but doesn't sky rocket me but it really just a teaspoon or so.
Sweet potato is a wild card. Always sky rockets but I usually go low first, too low. I can't get my insulin to correspond with my foods so I eat low carb
I do agree fatty foods keep me lower but stay there longer.

I did low GI.
It worked for me.
That list worked for Chook.
They weren't the same.
I didn't eat any fat.
You need to test as you eat.
Probably the phrase "we are all different" is one of the most common on this forum. I agree, but we are not all completely different. I never seen anyone claim they can eat large amounts of mash potato without raising their BG but they can't eat cauliflower. So I still think a consensus is useful even if there are differences. For example, I agree with @Chook about sweet potato so I won't bother with testing that anymore, as there are at least two of us with the same result.

I find that for me, on the whole, high GI foods are best avoided completely. Medium GI foods I can tolerate in small amounts especially if eaten with fats or cheese.

The unknown factor for me is the low GI foods - some of them I really react to. When I want to try a new (to me) low GI or medium GI food I usually test at 1 hr, 90 mins and 2 hrs. If, at 2 hrs, the trend is still upwards I carry on testing at 30 min intervals until the tide turns. If my BG spikes high or stays at a medium high level for an extended period then I either add it to the list of foods I won't eat again or experiment with eating it in combination with other very low GI foods, extra fat or extra protein.

Tested myself 2 hours after the dinner I mentioned earlier. Roast beef, butternut squash mash, sprouts, carrots, peas, red wine. I passed on the roast potatoes, parsnips and yorkshire pudding. My BG was 7.2 which is a bit higher than the 7.0 that I try to keep to but it was a very full plate. There was a good portion of the butternut squash so I will definitely be having that again.
