Hi there
Haven't been here for awhile but would like advice on the following. My HB1Ac readings were commented by my GP as being perfect 2 months ago however over the last week I have been feeling under the weather possibly cold or sinusitis which hasn't stopped me going out. Last night before going to bed I was trembling and sweating so tested my blood/glucose which was 4. I immediately ate a scone and mince pie and symptoms stopped and my reading went up to 7.4. In the morning before breakfast the reading was 5.4. Basically I want to know what shall I do, is it because I am a little under the weather, should I check my blood/glucose more regularly, should I visit my GP, I don't really want to bother him if it is a normal reaction. I am type 2 on diet and Metformin Prolonged Release and my random readings average about 6 to 7 normally. It is my intention to buy some Glucose tablets today in case it happens again rather than resort to the dreaded pastries.
Cheers
John
