Low Serum Creatinine

Hi All,

I've not been around for a while but just had my latest Hb1Ac and it was 54.

However I know why that is, I basically have been getting very forgetful and forgetting to take my medicine, logn story while there I noticed that my Serum creatinine was marked up as abnormal with a warning as it was 57 normal is 59-104.

Anyone else got this....?

Dr's also put me on a statin and Sitagliptin, but I want to get back properly on my old meds Glipizide and Metformin, before getting carried away with new meds...

Low serum levels of creatinine are not common, but they are also not usually a cause for concern. Yours here is really just narrow borderline, so definitely nothing to be concerned about if its just staying there. @wookie101, I don't know of your gender or age, but lower numbers may start to be a concern and are typically caused aka, muscular dystrophy (which is lowering of you muscle mass), some types of liver disease or simply a diet very low in protein. Pregnancy can also be the cause for low serum creatinine levels as can age be. You current level is certainly no reason for concern, but keep an eye on it to see if going further down. And still depending on your situation, several root causes are quite benign.

Yeah, pregnancy at that age would be something!
