Lower morning numbers - reduce insulin dose?

I've been taking 10 units of Humulin I each evening since diagnosis back in October. For the first few months my morning numbers were generally 5s, with the occasional high 4s and low 6s. Now, for the past month or so, my morning numbers are pretty consistently mid 4s, even though my carb intake is slightly higher. Should I drop my Insulin dose a unit or two, to avoid any risk of hypos?

Mid 4's are OK, although you wouldn't want to go much lower. You can discuss with your DSN and could possibly experiment dropping dose, especially if your increase in carbs is to prevent going too low.

I agree with Mo. Probably OK as you are, but watching our hypos and testing before driving of course. Yes a drop of 1 unit might be worth doing but discuss with the DN if you can
