So done my first reading before breakfast today it was 6.6
Had 2 ryvita with cheese and marmite and a cup of tea with1 Splenda .
Tested 2 hrs later 3 times and readings were
5.9 , 5.7 , 5.6
One after another . I thought the readings would go up as breakfast was about 14 grs of carbs

Fatty foods (like cheese) can slow down the absorption of carbs. Check later, see what happens.

Ahh ok .. I’ll do it again about 1 00 pm that’ll be about 1 hr before lunch and see . Thanks

So ok . Checked blood again at 13 00 hrs got a reading of 5.6
Can this be right or should I wait till after s few days and see if this happens every day

It may be that your bs was higher before breakfast due to a liver dump in the night and therefore there was more storage space in your liver for the sugars from your meal.

So had lunch of 2 sausages 2 fried eggs 4 slices of bacon and 2 slices of Burgen bread with a cup of tea 1 Splenda before lunch blood reading was 5.9
Took reading 2 hrs later was 6.4 is this all good are these the type of readings I should be aiming for in the long term

So finished my first full day of testing before and after meals . Here are my results .
Brekkie . Pre 6.6 At 08:30 2hr after 5.9
Lunch . Pre 5.9 at 16:15 . 2 hr later 6.4
Dinner . Pre 6.1 at 8:55 .2 hr later 5.1
Are these what I should stick to ie meal wise am I doing the right thing and if I carry on in this vein will I get my results down to remission levels
Should I test before bed . What should I expect to be at so not to go to low while asleep

Many would murder for those numbers and you (IMO) are already there

Thanks bud . Only diagnosed 3 weeks ago and very new to the testing regime . Thanks for the heads up . Just one thing What’s IMO

Yep you are doing great! Keep it up and you are going to like your hba1c results!

Wish I had those numbers after 3 weeks. Took me over to year to get anywhere near it. All good now though.
14g of carbs is not high. I have 20g per meal or 30g if it is low GI. Everybody is different though.

Thanks for all the encouragement really am trying got diagnosed with a HbAc of 48 /6.5% . Though I think I had something to eat before the second test but can’t remember . Any way when the next one is taken I’ll find out ... BTW goin to bed now reading is 4.9

Eating before a HbA1c test won't affect the result. It measures the 3 monthly moving average.
