Lowered BG readings after a spike

Recently, I spiked @ 10.2 mmol/l 2hrs postprandial after home-made wholemeal naan breads (I consumed too many).

For the following 3 days my BG readings for fasting and postprandial were well within normal levels.

Does anyone know whether an insulin flood has forced the cellular insulin receptors or GLUT4 transports into over reaction?

Hi and welcome.

10ish is a reasonable response to that amount of carb - I can get to 9.6 (OK, only inside the first hour) from a small milky coffee. I would guess that many non-diabetics would be having that sort of response too.

From my experience, the effect of a high blood glucose level and the implied increase in insulin, has no knock-on effect in following days once levels have settled back to normal. Like most standard T2s, I have never had my insulin level or response tested. High levels of insulin over time may lead to insulin resistance: high levels of blood glucose over time may lead to damage to nerves and capillaries.
