Hi all,

Was wondering if anyone has had the same issues. I received my flu and booster two weeks ago now and it’s been a nightmare ever since. Think I’ve had every side affect possible.
Saying that my biggest concern has just hit as I keep having low blood sugars that I struggle to correct.
For example; last night I had my tea and took less fast acting insulin to try and avoid a low, an hour later I was sitting at 3.6. After that it took two 500ml bottles of lucozade, 10 tablets of fast acting glucose chews and a couple of biscuits to get me up to 4.1 for the night.
The same has happened this morning as well.

I’m just wondering if anyone has had anything like this after a bout of illness or the booster/flu jag combo and if you had any suggestions of how I should correct it?

Thanks

You need to talk to your DN but it's important you reduce your insulin, starting with your basal. Hypos are dangerous. But you have managed to keep your blood sugars above hypo level (3.5) last night. I have different insulin requirements every day and follow the numbers. Dealing with variability is part of insulin management.

Hi,

Welcome to the forum.

What basal are you prescribed?
