The docs thinking drugs cure all
keto kicked started the diet brilliant but I ended up with gallstones
Then Low carbing great as I went to low for me but I’ve been told I would even out but if I go lower as in like 50g carbs I’d drop the weight quickly flaring up the gallstones. Thankfully the gallbladder has been removed now 8 months in now.

I’m struggling and I’m eating between 1800 - 2300 per day with exercise daily but that’s mainly for my mental health. It’s only 15 - 30 minutes that isn’t including the walk the dogs I do daily because well you know…

I’m low carb at 130g I don’t want to go lower as I drop to much weight and I’m over 50 and scrawny isn’t a good look for me

I hover at 58-60kgs as long as I stay at 130-140g of carbs if I go lower I rapidly drop weight and it’s very noticeable in my face and neck.

so folks that are at goal weight how are you fairing are you struggling or have you managed to get a happy medium.

will I struggling as it’s mainly the weight loss not gains that worry me. Yes I know I can go to a lower weight but nope not for me.

Hi @Dollylolly I found I was able to stabilise my weight by keeping my carb intake the same and just increasing both protein and fat a little. I don't (and have never) counted calories, just carbs.

My weight is very slowly reducing but I eat only 40 gm of carbs a day, max, the rest is meat fish eggs cheese yoghurt - all the usual things, and I still need to lose weight.
Perhaps analyse how much you are eating to see if you are under eating protein and fats - the essential nutrients.

Over 100g proteins and over 100g in fats so I don’t think it’s that

muddling along day by day but no one talks of maintaining just weight loss on keto or low carb

I’d like a talk on maintenance but it’s a hard one as no one would know how much for that person as we are different.

plus I really do need to put the scales away.

Thanks though.

I get the "scrawny" comments, and the "you won't lose anymore, will you" comments, but I know from my meter that I could still lower my bg more, and it's my internal health that more important to me than my outer looks. So even if I look worse I'd still follow my meter. As time goes on the scrawniess is disappearing though a mix of hydration and exercise, I look healthier than I did at first. Mostly I ignore the scales, they lie. My belt and my meter are far better measures imho
