Making the forum better

I didn't appreciate that either (although it's logical when you think about it) - probably because I always sign in anyway.
 
There's a type 1, type 2 and a prediabetic section. Perhaps people should try and stick to the specific section when putting up posts or answering posts. This will inevitably be open to error though. I wrote a post in the prediabetic section and someone( sorry forgot who is was) thought I was diabetic.
 
All depends on how you read the forum. If you're on a lot it's easiest to browse using 'New Posts' or 'Recent Posts' rather than by individual forum section, and although the section is shown on the thread listing it's easy to overlook and not know which section you are in.

I don't think there's much that can be done about 'labelling' - as Indy pointed out the software limits what you can have on the left, and as Jaylee pointed out you can't see signatures if you aren't signed in.

That leaves it entirely up to the individual to write something at the end of every post (like this) but I can't see that happening.

I assumed you were diabetic too. You have no signature and your profile can't be viewed. I have probably read a post somewhere stating You are not, but my memory is but a memory.

Does that mean that because you are prediabetic that you only post in that section?

It would be difficult for people to know your status as your profile cannot be read by all and you do not have a signature.

I post anywhere that I can be of help and often bump up posts from all boards if they are waiting too long for a reply.
 
What would be a nice feature, if it's possible, would be to have a 'hover' on people's name that would display the "information" section of their profile, rather than having to click on their name, click on information - and then you've left the thread as well.
 
It wouldn't bother me either way. However it's easy enough to click the avatar for the profile which might be a good place to put T1 or 2 on registering.
Whilst I understand the need for some privacy option I wouldn't thing anyone would be averse to divulging this information because they've come to this forum for a reason. To get help and compare notes.
When I first joined I was very interested in various members' bg levels, levels of medication, type of medication, Cholesterol levels. I guess I was looking for members similar to myself.
Of course I'm not saying this information is a must to post, just that it's useful for new members.
If i could provide an analogy : it's a little like being in a communal shower. We've all seen a naked body before, so no need to be shy.

Addendum: I haven't updated my profile yet and I never did know how to add a signature. Too busy reading and learning on the forum to find out how. I'll do it soon! :-)

Any teachers around? When I was at school girls had to do PE in their underpants. Now that I look back it seems a bit dodgy.
 
I'm a Type 2 and have been on here for four years. I was mis-diagnosed with chronic fatigue, so have done a lot of reading and research on the subject. So no matter what area someone has mentioned fatigue, tiredness or exhaustion, I will usually post my little list of possible causes.

I do read other sections too, but I never comment on anything that I don't have experience about.

Neither have I but I have gone "full English" in a Swedish sauna & on a Greek beach... Ah, liberating! :D

To be honest though, viewing this from an iPad mini.. (I don't use the app.) I find some of the signatures take up almost as much space as the initial post..
I don't take for granted this info is always up to date....

denise, you were one of the first 3 or 4 people that ever spoke to me on here, on that terrible night, i always think about that when i see you post :) muchas gracias :)

Don't talk to me about PE teachers... I was at this all boys school. This one teacher had a penchant for standing, no leaning with his elbow against the end door jam at the communal shower exit watching us all.. "To make sure everyone took a shower."
We had to wear these nylon white shorts for PE (black for rugby.) which were pretty much opaque.. His rule was no undies....!! "Unhygienic" by all accounts..
He also taught French and had a habit of referring to the class as "loves"...

I was a girls PE teacher back in the day. When at school we also wore the thick navy blue knickers with a gym skirt. The knickers had a pocket in for a hanky. Very unsexy. I don't think showers had been invented in those days. ;)
