Thanks!!
I'm so huuuuuuuungry
Hi marathonmona
I started the ND 06/08/17 and was 15st 2lb
I am watching "Peerless" as started the week before me on 01/08/17
Peerless is trailblazing the way as I can see what is possible and what I may expect.
I have completed week 3 this morning
My fbg this week has been 6.1, 6, 6.2 but the his morning was 7.2
My weight has gone from 15st 2lb down to 13st 9lbs
I was taking maximum meds for T2 and Dr wanted to put me on insulin injections which prompted me to do the ND with his agreement.
I now take zero meds, not just for T2 but don't take any of the associated meds such as Atorvistatin for cholesterol, Losartan for blood pressure (my by last night was 121/76 - Normal
I don't have to take Omezaprole for my stomach as the meds no longer give me stomach problems.
Taking zero meds is great!
I am sticking to the original ND, I.e. Shakes x 3 per day and making up to 800 calories with non-starchy vegetables only.
I haven't managed to reach 800 calories and usually am around 609-700 per day.
The shakes I am using are only 100 calories each so 500 calories of veg is quite a lot.
I am pleased how things are going. My target weight is 12st 8lbs (15% of my starting weight) so I need to lose 3lb p/week for the remaining 5 weeks. I had a day were I put 2lb on which weakened my resolve but a few people on here (crook, fleegle and a Peerless, to name but a few, gave me encouragement). It came good in the end so if you hit a wall, keep chipping away and it will come down.
Good luck with your diet, am watching with hope and interest
Omg a Ginsters extra large Cornish pasty!!! You're killing me LolHi,
Am watching both you and peerless! It must be a funny morning for higher FBG lol.
Well done on dumping all those meds. And after 3 weeks! Amazing!
800 calories seems to elude me still as I'm usually ending the day between 900-1000. I just look at it as a learning curve: each day I try and find techniques to help me cope with the hunger. Although I'm not as hungry as I was at the start, I admit I AM still hungry at times. I just need to learn how to deal with it.
I did the shakes for two days and have never felt so ill in my life: ravenous yet bloated and bad bad stomach aches. I was also dreaming about food all day. I gave in at the end of day two by eating a Ginsters extra large Cornish pasty, something I normally don't look at twice. Ha.
Thank you for your words of encouragement; it's nice to know we're in this together!
Mona x
My weighing day is tomorrow and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a loss - any loss would be nice!
What normally happens with me is that after a while my body adjusts to whatever diet I'm eating and slowly drifts back to its normal BG numbers and it gets used to running on less food so the weight loss slows right down. I've just got to keep going if that happens this time.
My FBG today was 4.9 which I'm very pleased with.
Great FBG!
Good luck for tomorrow. A quarter done!
Not necessarily...... Prof Taylor says that we can carry on to 12 weeks of we want/need to. I think I'm going to need to....I want to lose at least another stone and a half - preferably more.
Yes Chook you must keep going no matter what.My weighing day is tomorrow and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a loss - any loss would be nice!

Intermittent fasting may help with this, so instead of having 800 cals each day, some days have 1600 with the day before (or after) just having water. You need to stop your body thinking that 800 cals is the new norm, it is much more of an issue for people on "moderate" diets as it is easy for our body to slow down to keep a stable weight on 2000 cals.
