Is there anything we can help with? Sounds like it is all overwhelming you a bit x

Thing is Mazz, nobody has to follow a strict plan, it has to be tailored to suit the individual otherwise it won't work. The one thing we do know is that carbohydrate affects us badly, so we need to cut it down as much as possible. There is a wealth of knowledge here, so if you give us some ideas of how you usually eat (you're not the only one that doesn't like breakfast), maybe we can help you.

I've tried similar shakes to that from Aldi. Like the optifast stuff mentioned above, they've got maltodextrine and fructose and other such ****. So I mostly avoid them.

To be honest I think LCHF works best if you can stick with "real" food as much as possible. So I generally eat very little of processed foods like that these days.

When I started out in 2011, I weighed a lot more than I do now, 6 stone heavier. Funnily enough, I was never tempted to try these shakes. I knew that if I couldn't manage to control my eating, snacking constantly, then I wouldn't be able to cope with just a glass of liquid. If it was just about hunger maybe, but it was always about more than that, the psychological side and depression that went hand in hand with bingeing. I really don't think shakes are a good idea for anyone.

Agree with a whole meal is better, but in certain circumstances a healthy home made shake can be handy, when I was working I could not face food at 5.00 am but did not fancy maybe waiting till 1- pm for dinner, so a healthy shake was the answer....

Can never understand it when people say real food :) as opposed to unreal food, I guess:angelic: I prefer to say unprocessed .........

But to be serious :couchpotato: I did see some research about the speed of digestion in shakes/smoothies not allowing the body to take in as much of the good stuff as whole food............ so who knows

Agreed about certain circumstances, I'm coming at it more from the weight loss angle, replacement shakes to drop and lose pounds.

Different strokes and all that;)

Meal Replacement Shakes sound great so many added nutrients :)Fortified with Vitamins & Minerals for optimum health, Vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12, CD3 & E. I have a similar problem with eating in the mornings so i'm going to give these a go :)

Unkind people, failure to take personal responsibility.
That's exactly what I do for breakfast. After a lot of research I plumped for NuZest's Good Green Stuff. It makes me feel fantastic and I find I only need two meals a day now with no snacks and no hunger. Defo gets my vote. I set up a detailed thread about this under Diet/nutrition.
