I'm 47 years old and since 6 years I have some signs where I'm wondering that can be diabetes. But I'm not sure. One of the symptoms such as hand tremor, weakness, thirst, , dizziness. And in the last time symptoms like visual impairment. At result of a medical treatment I have been told that its because of cholesterol. That's why I have been told to began a diet. So I should eat mostly potato. Hidden diabetes was the last diagnosis and at the same time as diagnosis it was told that it can be trigger cholesterol.
So my question is that how diabetes is triggering cholesterol. Or what would you recommend?

Thank You in Advance

Hi @ladyolive & welcome to the forum:)

We cannot provide a diagnosis on the forum or speculate what would be causing your symptoms, they could be any number of things. The best avenue for you is to speak to your GP about how you are feeling & the symptoms you have.

If you get a diagnosis of diabetes it’s a shock but not the end of the world, go see your GP & if it is diabetes then there’s a lot of support here on the forum from members who like to share their experiences & knowledge

Edited to add, I’ve never heard of hidden diabetes, can you explain what that is?

I agree with @lovinglife , the person to help you get a diagnosis is your GP. Have you had an HbA1c blood test? If not ask your GP for one, this is the diagnostic test for diabetes.

The best part of a potato for a metabolic condition is the skin.
The rest is starch, which is just another name for carbohydrate.
And will increase blood sugar rapidly, as sure as glucose would.
And I have never heard of potato lowering cholesterol.
But I would doubt it.

thank you for your answers, the information about my test results is not up to date, I will test again
