Is it a particular medication you are thinking about? If so would you mind naming it please? I know statins used for high cholesterol do and steroids so there a distinct possibility that some other medications do too.
I am actually asking for my husband who has heart failure and was recently prescribed amiodarone. He has been told his is prediabetic and has never been before taking this new medication.

I have two medications that raise my blood sugars noticeably. Tamsulosin for prostate care, and furusomide which is a diuretic for my heart treatment. But bispronol and entresto which are my heart meds do not seem to affect my sugars. The other heart med I was taking was Dapagliflozin which is supposed to lower bgl but in fact actually did nothing for me in that department. I have stopped the forxiga due to other side effects.
Note that some other heart meds act as diuretics too, and may also raise bgl like furusomide such as eplerenone and spirolactone.
