Medication not available again

I am on Semaglutide 9mg tablets once a day, put a repeat prescription in a couple of weeks ago and got told yesterday they were not currently available. Last time this happened I was without medication for 3.5 months. I contacted my surgery asking if there was an option for an alternative medication, the reply I got was for the doctor to tell me he asked the in house pharmacist to look into the supply problem.

Anybody else having this issue??
 
You could maybe ask for the injectable version of semaglutide?
 
When it comes to injections, I am a wimp, injection were prescribed when I first started Semaglutide and I just could not inject myself, stupid I know but what can I say.
 
I haven't had any problems getting the 4mg tablets. Could you suggest getting 2 x 4mg? It's not quite the same dose but would be better than none.

It is not advised to do this, oral semaglutide should only be taken as a once daily single tablet due to the way it is absorbed. I don’t know the science behind it but I remember being told this when I was taking it.

Thanks for the suggestion Rachox, I had a phone call from the surgery, the person said that they had been phoning around various pharmacy's and found a pharmacy with 32 tablet in stock. Apparently my Pharmacy\surgery have arranged for the tablet to be sent to me by post (they did not say where they were), so I can expect 32 tablet by Wednesday next week. I have to let the pharmacy know when I am down to about 10 tablet if they have not contacted me to say they have the remaining tablets ( I normally have 56 per repeat). Not an ideal plan but we will see how it goes.
