Hello

I've had my pump for about 7 months now....time flies ha!
I had the accuchek combo before hand and I had a Bra pouch which I got for free from Roche as well as the pouch with the lanyard that goes around your neck which I used at night! Anyway, the minimed is too small for them and it just falls out and I'm currently just clipping it on my waist band and letting it just "hang" loosely at night in bed....it's getting slightly annoying as I forget it's not attached to anything and I get up and it's dangling!

I know medtronic sell the pouches etc but they're so expensive for me....does anyone have any alternatives please or anywhere I can get pouches for a reasonable price?

Thank you x

Couldn't you make something Nicola?

Hmmmm, can't you just sew a few stitches on the Roche pouch so that your 640G doesn't fallout? Either that or wear PJs or nightie and clip your new pump to that. . . . Simples!

This morning mine had fallen out in my sleep and when I got out of bed it was tangling from my tummy - very surreal feeling !

I bought a pouch off ebay which is a waistband with a pocket, it's comfortable to wear and cost about £12.

With a bit of thought, most things at home can be used as a pouch for a pump........how about using some ladies tights and cutting off about 12 ins from the toe part upwards and then clipping it to a nightie neck or pj waistband using a plastic dollypeg (£land type shops - clothesline) fasten the cut off tight. This should stop the pump coming off as dollypegs were used years ago and have made a come back. Another good alternative is to use a coat hanger for holding trousers securely and using a hacksaw, saw off the clip and use that.

How about a neck lanyard, like we wear for ID cards, with a lobster claw clip (the smoothest clip I can probably think of), with the clip through a single, old(?) trainer liner? If the liner is too wide at the ankle, you could clip through both sides. The reason I suggest old is because the hole might not quite bounce back in the wash, but it would go in the wash.

I have a lanyard yes as I made one with my old one I could use the pouch for the old pump but the button bit came off sigh!

I use childrens socks from a supermarket - just looked for ones without heels in - they don't hang though I just tuck them in somewhere.

I usually clip my 640G using the clip on the back of it to the centre part of my bra during the day & at night I take the clip off & put it in my Hid-In pouch around my waist. The lady who makes the pouches is diabetic herself and she does all kinds of fancy ones (even makes them to order if you want). I have two, a black & a white one and they are lovely and comfy, usually forget I'm wearing it! www.hid-in.com :-)

I tried hanging it on my bra the other day it stuck out too much lol! I'm so fussy I will have a look at that though thank you! X

My bust just about covers it but there is a tiny bulge! ;-) Lol! Definitely have a look at the Hid-In belts, they are really comfy and worth the money in my opinion. :-)

Lol! I had a look and yes was put off by the price but if they are worth it then I might consider it lol x

I use a hid-in belt too - I wear it just below where my bra strap sits, and the pump sits snugly in the middle of my chest. Ever so comfy, and not in the way at all.

At night I either have my pump in my pj pocket, or in a spibelt which I wear very loosely round my waist if I'm wearing pjs without a pocket.
