i knew we could eat berries and avocado but I just saw a Facebook post from this site that showed melon lower than strawberries and watermelon as lower carb than some blueberries. And rhubarb being the lowest of all (yes I know sweetener would be needed most likely and that’s another issue). Is that right?

Unfortunately watermelon no longer likes me. Melon looks a tad high for me and the more sweet it is, probably not good. The only thing you can do is to try it and test.

Great. I like rhubarb. A lot.

Just be aware of portions and frequency, remember where the fructose ends up. Just sayin'.

I just checked out tomato’s. Thankfully they seem to be low carb.....

This is my point exactly. It contradicts it. Dietdr puts melons of either type above berrries. This site ie diabetes.co.uk today posted on Facebook imelon was significantly lower than some berries. How are we supposed to know if sites that I’ve trusted til now are so different

I know. Which is why since diagnosis I’ve avoided all fruits except avocado and a few berries. But if melons and rhubarb are actually lower I can expand the very limited repertoire

I guess the ultimate thing to know is if you can tolerate eating melon by testing, the carb count becomes irrelevant to a certain extent if you’re ok with it.

True. I was put off even trying it though. I will now to see my response
