Metallic Taste in Mouth

Type 2 diagnosed 7 months ago. Take 500g Metformin am & pm. Have been following LCHF diet for about 4 weeks now and after difficulty at first, feel I am now getting the hang of it.

This week I've noticed a metallic taste in my mouth after meals which lasts for an hour or so.

Any ideas? Suffered bad constipation ( sorry for mentioning it but know it's a problem and have seen threads on it so thought I should mention it ) when I switched to LCHF but this has righted itself in last 10 days.

Can anyone offer any reason for the metallic taste please?

One of the side effects of Metformin is Taste Disturbance and it can be a metallic taste or a burnt plastic taste. Check your Patient Information Leaflet (in the box of pills) and go and see your DN>

Hi. I had the metallic taste for 6 months! It does eventually completely disappear.

Does the Metformin smell funny too? This last bottle that I had smelled very funny. left a funny taste in my mouth. Not metallic, just gross.

I'm on tablets not liquid, no smell to them.
