Hi everyone...where is the best place to get a meter reading thing from? Its ok im new to all this do need to ask...thanks in advance :)

Check with your doctor or diabetes nurse you may qualify to get it on the NHS have you applied for a medical exemption card ?

Most of us T2s can't have them on prescription unless using insulin or gliclazide etc. We buy our own, and find the one with the cheapest test strips is the Codefree. You will need a lot of test strips initially.

Try here for the Codefree meter
http://homehealth-uk.com/product-category/blood-glucose/blood-glucose-monitor/

and here for the extra strips

Pharmacies don't sell them. There are discount codes if you buy in bulk
5 packs 264086
10 packs 975833

I just got one - I went for the CodeFree one after advice from people here on this forum. Testing for the first time today.
