do you keep a 2nd meter just for driving records

I don't, not sure what the point would be?
 
Unless you've been told to keep a separate record of your bg readings by the DVLA then I don't see why you would need to use a 2nd meter, unless of course its more convenient to you to keep one in the car.
 
as you got to do a bg, before drivining,and every 2 hours whilst driving could land up quiet afew tests.
then on renewal 1-3 years later dont they want 3 months worth test ? or have i got it all wrong [prob]

yup might be handy to keep one in the car
 
I personally have not heard of that before. They will most likely write to your specialist/gp who in turn will probably disclose your last hba1c results (which is a 3 month average) and let them know if anything else has appeared on your nhs record like several severe hypos.
 
Received a form to apply for a new license the one you have to fill out when your approaching 70.... does not say anything about sending records in just asking if your diabetes is under control:)

Just checked my meter (Glucomen) and it is going back to 17th March. So pretty much complies.

Will check the tech specs for it though.

So, my Glucomen LX Plus apparently keeps 400 test results and testing 5 times a day for 90 days would require 450 results.

It is a DVLA approved meter though, so presumably they are only looking for 'around' 3 months worth of readings.
 
thats good meter then, i ve got bayer contour next not sure how many before it runs out
 
its all down to the discretion of your doctor/consultant.........

i download my readings and pump data at my clinics every 6 to 9 months, so I don't actually provide anything to the DVLA and I don't think my consultant does either, he just signs the form I think......

if you don't test and showed no signs of keeping control but more importantly had frequent hypos, then your doctors may not sanction a renewal.........
 
well i ll do what it said in the video, test before driving and then every 2hours whilst driving,
might get get a second meter just for the driving records,

when i get back to driving in few weeks
 
mine just replace battery i belive and 800 results ?

And I think it's only if yr a hgv driver u go c tneir independant consultants with ya netter to make sure u r doin yr bloods and it's hot b 3 mths of BS readings I know I've bin twice this will b the thurs time when I get me letter
