Hi
Im trying to manage my diabetes with metformin and my last HB reading was up not sure how or why other than a bit stressed up with work etc., how long are meters ok for? before its wise to get another one, Ive had mine for about 4-5 years now is it time to change??? so I can monitor it more accurately I only check it about twice a week and it seems to be high in the morning, bit confused any advice would be great
Thanks

If you go on a few of the meter company websites they often offer free meter upgrades not sure if this is just for t1s but no harm in trying

It may pay to get a new meter contact manufacturers and they should send free ones out to you

Type 2 diagnosed 24/01/2013.
Novomix 30, Victoza, Simvistatin.

My One Touch Ultra is almost 10 years old and going fine. It's on it's 3rd set of batteries. Lifescan sent me the 1st batteries free and would have done the 2nd had I bothered. They just sent me a calibration bottle and it's fine.

Id say you need to test more often rather than get a new meter.

Next time you go for a check up take your meter with and test at the same time. All meters will vary up to about 10%, if more than that, think of getting a new one
