Hello,
I have just been put on Alogliptin (25mg). Despite the A4 info sheet in box it doesn't give advice on when and how to take.
I take 2000mg metformin after evening meal (GP advised). Pharmacist was surprised at this but advised Alogliptin and Metformin should be taken together.
Any advice much appreciated

The Gliptin family are normally taken once per day and I don't think it matters when or whether with a meal or not. I used to take Sitagliptin. You could always check with the chemist or go to one of the better websites for more advice for Alogliptin. Ref Metformin know one seems to know or care about whether to split the Metformin into twice a day or all together. If it's the Slow Release (SR) version it really shouldn't matter. If it's the plain version I would read the leaflet and also be guided by the pharmacist; it's not a super critical drug.

I do not have diabetes
I take sitagliptin.
I have always taken all my tablets before breakfast or an hour after I rise in the morning.
I'm not sure that it makes any difference.
