Metformin and Psyllium husk

Hi folks I have type 2 diabetes and I take 2 x500g Metform with my evening meal, since becoming constipated after dietary changes and going low carb,I have decided to get some Psyllium husk, can anyone tell me if they take metformin and psyllium and when and how they them, should I be having the psyllium hours away from taking the metformin in case there is an ineraction that stops the Metformin working so well,as my doctor didn't know if they interacted

Hello @wilson1973 and welcome to the forum :)

There shouldn't be any issues with taking this with metformin as it's not a medicine, it's a dietary supplement.

I like psyllium husk in porridge. It makes a kind of jelly with water which some do not like. I would recommend eating the psyllium husk earlier in the meal with the metformin at the end, or preferably take the metformin with a different meal.
