metformin for type 2

hi, i have just been put on Metformin after 7 yrs of diet and exercise only..
my question is.. :
is it now possible to go too low now?
i remember a few years ago, that my GP said that as i was not on any meds, that i cannot go too low, and get in a coma or die etc..
now im on metformin.. does this now mean i CAN become too low/go in coma/have hypo's/herper's??!
he didnt mention any of this when i had my appointment the other day..

does this also mean i am on meds for life now? :-(

I had no problems with Metformin.
Also, having a trial period with no meds after losing weight exercising and getting low enough blood glucose readings. Never went too low with Metformin.

In a nutshell ....no, if you don't starve yourself and even then it is doubtful.. Google side effects

Probably on meds for the rest of your life, if you are already on low carb diet, if not you may get off them for some more years by going low carb

Metformin doesn't normally result in hypos so don't worry. It doesn't interact with the pancreas but reduces insulin resistance and to some extent liver glucose output
