Metformin/glucopharge

I usually take glucopharge sr 500mg x 2 a day. After getting my last prescription I have been give just metformin 500mg. I know that glucopharge is metformin but are the 1's I've been given slow release?

I very much doubt it Sarah. Does it say SR anywhere on the box?

If not, take them back and query it with the pharmacist.

I imagine you're supposed to take two of the metformin as you did the glucophage, but as suggested, query it.

I got a generic metformin but it is still SR and has no different effect to the Glucophage

Hi. I've occasionally had a substitute make for my Glucophage SR but it has always included the letters SR or similar so do check with your pharmacy as it looks like they may have made a mistake

Yeh I will do there is no mention of sr anywhere on packet.
