Hello,

What's peoples experiences with Metformin prolonged release?? Has it worked for them? I have just started on 500mg twice a day! x

I could never detect an improvement in my blood sugar levels whether I took Metformin or not but the whole issue was overtaken when it affected the taste of food. Most food tasted like burnt plastic so DN reduced the dose until that got better but by then it was hardly worth taking it at all so she discontinued it.
 
Hi. I've been on Metformin SR for 12 years or so with no problems. Metformin never has much effect on blood sugar but helps a bit if you are insulin resistant thru excess weight. I did have the well-known metallic taste for 6 months.
