Metformin side effects

Hear that a few times, but behind so called "normal" or "clean" eating low carb has the most choices of any protocol. Meat, Fish, Shell Fish, Diary, Nuts, Seeds, Vegetables and Fruit are included - so that all of essentials, minerals and swaths of vitamins and minerals. Grains are the major missing item; and then the things grains make there are alternatives.

If it is junk food that is lamented then it is no contest. But there is junk in "dirty keto" products.

Thanks for the reply but I don't know what to eat. I hate most vegetables and salad. I couldn't stomach a cooked breakfast. Really struggling
Suggestion 1:
Coconut flakes, raspberries, blue berries, black berries, strawberries, a brazil nut, 5 x hazelnuts, almonds, pecans, macadamia nuts, couple of generous spoons of Greek Yogurt and a square or 2 of crushed dark chocolate all in a bowl with some milk underneath. (I also do half a lemon or lime with this meal). This can obviously be customised and keeps one full for hours. Roasted nuts give further moorish taste.

Suggestion 2:
Lots of Greek full fat Yogurt and Berries (more raspberries or strawberries). Some celery sticks for crunch.

Suggestion 3:
Roll ups. Either ham or smoked salmon, filled with cheese and gherkins, cucumber and tomato

Suggestion 4:
Tinned sardine in water with mild chopped onion wrapped with lettuce

Hi @SarahMarie and welcome to the forum!
Have you addressed your diet as well? I ask for two reasons. Firstly Metformin will not control blood sugars by itself and secondly because I’ve heard that in some people the side effects are worse if you continue to eat high carb meals, lowering your carbs will help control your diabetes too.
You are correct Sarah. I have been diabetic for 35 years and I have used THREE methods to control diabetes.
1. Medication.
2. Diet.
3. Exercise, exercise and exercise.
Exercise is very important in controlling glucose levels. You burn off the calories.
I am very surprise how so many diabetic professionals ignore this important method in controlling diabetes.

Just wondering how you get your daily protein and nutrients intake using just one meal a day?

I do / did big meals. It felt great training and going through the day fasted. I became aware that pushing around 3500 - 4000 calories through my system in one go was an issue. I notice that the persons who have been doing "this" for 20 years and train, eat 2 meals a day (Ted Naiman, Mark Sissons and others), so I am doing this more now.
