I have been taking Metformin Slow Release 500g for about four months. The last time I went for my prescription the pharmacy asked why I was taking three a day. She said I should only need two a day as they are Slow Release. She doesn't know me so is she correct in what she is saying?

Hi @tonymc9_ ..
I would have thought that at the very least she should check with your doctor before telling you that your meds are "incorrect". The question is whether she has "shorted" you on your prescription .. or whether she is just giving your her opinion. If it's the latter, I would ..

Keeps me sane when I'm dealing with dopey HCPs :happy:

As I am a new patient at the Health Centre my prescription was from a previous doctor , which were my first lot of Metformin on the box it said one a day for first week, two a day for 2nd and 3 a day for third week.

I then changed Health Centres and I asked for a repeat prescription. When I collected it, the script said two daily which I pointed out was incorrect as I was now on 3. The Pharmacist changed it to 3 but when sahe came out she said you should only need two as they are Slow Release.

I am making an appointment to see the nurse/doctor and see what they say after they have checked my bloods.

Regards
Tony
