Hi.i have recently been diagnosed with type 2,around a month ago. I am.a 46 year old male and i have been bodybuilding for over 20 years.my diet is clean and my diagnosis isnt throigh being over weight,possibly steroid induced..i take gliclazide once before breakfast but now have been prescribed metformin.i have done some research on this,but dont think this would suit my lifestyle. Does anyone have any alternatives please.

I hope I don't sound daft, but what is a "clean" diet? A diabetic needs something wholly different from what's usually the advised norm, hence the question. What are you usually eating? You'll be okay, but do give yourself and your body, time to adjust. Should you choose to start working out while in fat burning mode rather than being carb fuelled, it'll take a little while to get back to form. (Fatigue'll probably hit for a bit).
 
Can I ask why you think it wouldn't fit in with your lifestyle? It does a very different job than blood sugar lowering medications.
