Hi

Diagnosed type 3 6 weeks ago levels stayed high and was feeling very unwell with first medication. Been on metformin 14 long days blood sugar down but the side effects on my stomach are awful, never had anything so bad (not even when I had food poisoning) I had to start on 1 a day now on 2 and it’s terrible. I am on the slow release ones
Will it get better soon because I can’t deal with this for too long

Don't suffer in silence, go back to your GP and tell them about your problems. There are other treatment options.

Just checking that you’re taking the Metformin with food. This can help lessen side effects.

And did you know that changing your way of eating to low carb, or very low carb, can have a much better reduction in blood sugars to the little achieved by metformin?
