milk diet

I've gained weight rapidly this year from medication changes. Of course I've had 3 car accidents in 8 months and currently recovering from them still (last one was end of April). I'm limited with physical activity and I'm limited with diet as have restrictions. My weight is on my stomach and I get bloating on top of the weight which just makes my pain levels even worse. I've watched quite of few medical shows and it seems a common theme that surgeons like to get patients to drink milk for a couple of weeks or more for bypass prep (it helps the liver as well). But also I've heard others just say they're drinking milk and losing weight that way when they're faced with medical issues. Now I have no intention of course to stay on this diet long term if I try it, but if I can get the rapid weight gain to reverse to help with my pain levels then anything is better than nothing. I can't do fasting or intermittent fasting as some of you on this forum do either as I have meds that I have to eat with food... also can have them with milk (stomach has to be coated basically). So anyhow I'm probably waffling on here... but interested to know if anyone has actually done this diet and if it helped. What's the pros and cons in your opinion... especially interested in those who have other health issues and have tried it.

no But I want to suggest you to make shakes from milk and frozen spinach and maybe Physilium Husk ( only a spoonful of Husk to 300 ml and to spoonful of spinach ) this will give you lots of nutrients and the fibres in Husk makes you feel even more satiated.. and maybe add a eco Kiwi

please write of yor experience in the forum it is interesting...

I do not have diabetes
Couldn't do the milk thing and I swerve the veggies shakes, unpalatable!

However, @Brunneria has some great ideas on veggie shakes!
That should put some form of lining for your stomach!

You and cars just don't get on, do you? ;)

@Mep - It isn't something I have tried myself.

Many moons ago, I was being fed by a naso-gastric tube (I'll spare you the reasons), and was warned the milky based feed I was on could cause upset tummy, but not to worry, if that happened they could readily sort it.

I did have the upset tummy, and trust me, it was, well,........ extreme.

On that basis alone, if I were ever contemplating it, for whatever reason, I wouldn't be adding psyllium husk to it, unless I could be assured of close proximity and guaranteed access to certain facilities.

Of course not everyone would experience what I did, but it must have been common enough for them to mention it.

In our 20's a friend of mine did a Marsbar diet that was all the rage at the time. Marsbars only. She lost weight! Sorry, going off track here.

thanks everyone :) @Freema I think I will steer clear of adding those ingredients simply because my body already gets quite upset with veggies and the husks would be hard on my GI tract as well. Why I'm contemplating the milk diet also is because when I was in hospital and was having trouble eating they insisted I had to drink milk to take my medication (as I mentioned earlier the stomach has to be lined). I noticed when I left the hospital that my weight had gone down. But since the weight is just back on again. I'm considering either having just days of having milk only and other days with food just to cut back my calorie intake and also help my liver which last tests showed I have a mild fatty liver at the moment. Also probably similar to intermittent fasting but with milk. Then of course i will have to work out what impact it would have on my sugar levels. I'm not even sure I can do it yet, but worth a try I think. If I notice I don't lose any weight then I may consider doing it a couple of weeks straight.
