Hi anyone know when these or similar are available from the NHS? I'm currently on omnipod + freestyle, but I've an appointment coming up @ the diabetic clinic and I'd like to discuss.
 
I believe some already have this pump from the NHS, but it is entirely down to your local hospital as to what they offer - for instance I know when I got my pump, if you didn't needs sensors it was a choice of one pump or nothing, and if you did need sensors to work with it then it was again one pump or nothing (I believe if I'd got my pump about 3 months later I'd have got the 780g, as it is I have the 670g)
 
(T1 36years) I changed to the 780g from the 640g in February. I've been lucky enough to have the pump and sensors all funded. What I can say is how much of the difference the 780g was to me, it was almost life changing. I've struggled to keep my sugars low, even with the 640g, the 780g really has identified the basal I really need, so much so that my eye sight has improved and no longer require glasses for driving. It's an incredible piece of kit.
 
That's good to hear, hoping i can get funding too.

My problem is constantly changing basal/bolus requirements, keeping everything ticking over properly requires 40 scans and inconvenient snacking though out the day.
 
Apparently our health authority already has people on the 780g, but my omnipod is on a 4 yr funding plan, mistakenly i thought it was 3. By the time I'm eligible probably another step change.

Hi

can I ask how you got funding for the sensors? I have just asked for funding due to complications but have been refused as I have not had 2 hypos resulting in loosing my driving licence

In all honesty, I don't know. I live in Cardiff, I'm not sure if the funding is different in Wales. I moved to an area where my local Diabetes center was at a major hospital who specialised in pump therapy, I'm guessing this helped as my sugars were running high most of the time? Sorry I can't tell you any more information, I have an appointment next month, I'll ask!

Hi Richard f. I am looking at changing to an omnipod dash next month. But also offered is medtronic 780. I also use libre2. Do you not like the pod.
 
I like the pod, good and convenient. The reason for wanting to swap is the closed loop that Medtronic offer.
