I guess you’d have to check the information leaflets, but in some case the suggestion to take with food is to lessen the effects of some the gastric side effects.

How often re you monitoring your blood sugar levels and what results are you seeing?

Thanks.Daily and results are not too bad 5-8 at different times. My issue is that yesterday and today i was not particularly hungry at breakfast when i would normally take my tablets so i was unsure whether to just have a small meal to take with meds or wait until lunch. But that might be too close to the next dose.

I take metformin, and I take some meds that are similar but not the same as some of yours, so take this with a grain of salt. I fast most mornings, and I still take my meds. My stomach is not particularly sensitive, and I've never had major issues because of this. My doctor is aware and agrees with my protocol.

Thanks. I've never really had any gastric side effects so hopefully that continues.

I might just try a bit of trial and error and see how it works out

Fasting is very strong medicine so I'd be careful on that drug cocktail.
Maybe discuss reducing the meds with your HCP's and ask why you are taking a statin.

So I can skip breakfast if I want to and I would still have to take my Metformin?

Why do you say that as I thought that government advice was that everyone over the age of 50 should take statins. I have certainly been taking them for 15 years or so

The "benefits" of taking are statin are very much up for debate.

They are known to raise blood sugar levels so giving them out like sweets to T2's is dubious to start with.

There is a rather lengthy thread on the subject here

Metformin needs to be taken with food to reduce gastric distress. Dapagliflozin mandates carbohydrate intake and may result in DKA if not given sufficient glucose to work on. This latter class of meds must not be used in tandem with Low Carb or Keto or Fasting. Even missed meals may be increasing risk of DKA.

Not sure about the other meds though.
