Nuts are great! As fraddy says above,great snacks and when weight loss has been achieved they are great for maintaining your weight,macadamias are great too but they are pricey.
As far as I know they have a GI of around 20 but carbs are in the range of about 20g in 100g or so.
And over 500 calories.
Peanuts are lowest, I think.
Non salted!
So 4g of carbs and 125 calories in the average portion of 25g.
The good thing is they tend to lower the GI of food eaten with them.
That would be a 250 calorie meal for me.
And 10g of carbs for a low carber.
So really, it's dependant on you and your control and targets..
None for me, as I'm on a tight low cal diet, but I would be ok with the carbs otherwise, it could be a third of a days carbs to someone else, or just a light snack to someone on top of there bs trying to maintain or gain weight.
