This is a question for your child's dsn and doctor.
They will advise you about how best to make adjustments and ways to sort out thise high blood sugars with least risk.
I thnk that when to take a correction dose and when not to is important. Children are more at risk when a hypo occurs particularly at night. Solving the problem be other means might be safer. As far as I know you have take your Lantus at the same time every day, regardless of food. And Apidra every time you eat or when you want to correct a high, regardless of the timing of Lantus.
Have you been told you shouldn't take them at the same time?
Have you been taught to correct a high? If you usually don't do correction doses I would speak to your HCP first.
Good luck!
Which is exactly why I said:I thnk that when to take a correction dose and when not to is important. Children are more at risk when a hypo occurs particularly at night. Solving the problem be other means might be safer.
