Having been watching the news and hearing about the Measles epidemic in Wales I am now concerned. My son is 12 he was diagnosed with diabetes 3 years ago. I never got him vaccinated as I was scared of all the press surrounding possible side effects (diabetes being one of them so withholding it did not do much good for that) I am now wondering if he should now have the vaccine as I am sure it would be very dangerous for him to get it now. Has anyone had the vaccine after diagnosis. Does it affect the diabetes control? I will ask the doc when I see him but they are all very pro vaccines so will play down any risks associated.

The possible complications of Measles are horrid. Go to the doctor. He/she will probably tell you to get your son vaccinated in the best interests of your son and for no other reason - whatever the daily mail says.
