right - I got a bit trigger happy on the tesco shopping site and instead of 6 leeks I now have 6 PACKS of leeks - thats 24 leeks!!

Any ideas folks - we have had leeks in cheese sauce, chicken in a leek and cheese sauce - leek and potato soup (for hubby) leeks wrapped in ham - need some inspiration! preferably with out cheese!

I was going to suggest a soup lovinglife but I see you have got the covered! :)

ahh see sue that would be a great idea - if the freezer wasn't full to busting with boxes of berries when they where 3 for £5  - my freezer is only small and its like a rubics cube puzzle trying to fit stuff in! - I think I will make a leek pudding for my mother in law and then liberate the rest around the neighbours! - ooh would a leek pudding with almond flour be successful? - now that WOULD be nice on a day like today - maybe experiment if I get time

I also forgot to say that Leeks can be stored by burying them in cold wet sand. They will stay fresh for about 2 to 3 months if not much longer. Used to do that at home and keep the box in the shed or garage.

Ken :)

I love leeks too...but I guess you must be getting pretty sick of them! i was going to say freeze them...but then your your berry post. Could you defrost some berries...and replace them with some choppped leeks?

I had the opposite of this experience with sprouts...I ordered what I thought was 1 pack...and got 1 sprout! Th joys of internet shopping.

Sorry, I've no tips to add here but thank you so much for the much needed laugh lovinglife and sugar2. I can just imagine getting the home delivery and finding all those leeks ... and sugar2's 1 sprout. I was sitting here in floods of tears this morning finding life hard to deal with, but this post just made my day.

I wonder what the packer thought you were going to do with one sprout !

Perhaps a decoration for nouvelle cuisine or a sprout lolly-pop.

Or divide it into single leaves and use as an accompaniment to steak
